The March social for the Essex Cornerstone Club saw members come together for an evening of friendly competition, laughter, and fellowship at Kingpins — and it proved to be one of the most enjoyable socials of the year so far.
Trading aprons for bowling shoes, members gathered in Southend for a relaxed night that perfectly captured what Cornerstone is all about: bringing Freemasons under 40 together in informal settings where friendships can grow beyond the Lodge room. With lanes booked, drinks flowing, and plenty of good-natured banter, the competitive spirit quickly came alive.
As the games unfolded, there were strikes to celebrate, spares to cheer, and the occasional dramatic miss that drew laughter from across the lanes. While scores varied wildly, enthusiasm never dipped, and the atmosphere remained supportive and inclusive throughout — whether someone was a seasoned bowler or picking up a ball for the first time in years.
By the end of the evening, one clear winner emerged. Luke Daisley bowled consistently throughout the night, securing victory and proudly lifting the coveted Cornerstone bowling trophy to well-earned applause from the group. His win was celebrated in true Cornerstone style, with plenty of congratulations and light-hearted calls for a rematch later in the year.
The March bowling social was a perfect example of how Essex Cornerstone continues to offer fun, accessible events that strengthen bonds, welcome new members, and keep the social side of Freemasonry thriving. With memories made and rivalries sparked, attention now turns to the next event — and who might be able to knock Luke off the top spot. 🎳
