Roles Available for Election
Deputy Chairman
The Deputy Chairman is integral to guiding the club’s direction, inspiring members, and promoting Freemasonry across Essex and beyond. This role involves:
- Leading and managing committee meetings to ensure the club’s growth and sustainability.
- Serving as a liaison between the Province and the Club to meet both parties’ needs.
- Representing the club at external meetings as required.
- Supporting and supervising other club officers, setting goals, and evaluating performance.
- Driving member recruitment and engagement, and fostering a positive club environment.
Treasurer
The Treasurer manages the club’s finances, ensuring funds are secure and expenditures align with our goals. Duties include:
- Managing club accounts, recording transactions, and creating financial statements.
- Preparing the Club’s budget and collecting annual membership fees.
- Planning event budgets and assisting with fundraising in collaboration with the Essex Cornerstone Foundation.
- Acting as a reference point on all financial matters for the committee.
Communications Officer
As the Communications Officer, you will elevate the Club’s profile through strategic marketing and communications. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a media strategy to promote the club’s activities.
- Managing newsletters, social media, website content, and external publications.
- Creating publicity materials and maintaining a strong, consistent club presence.
- Collaborating with other Masonic clubs across the UK and promoting joint events.
Events Officer
The Events Officer plays a pivotal role in organizing a vibrant calendar of social gatherings and activities for the club. This role includes:
- Planning monthly social events and quarterly meetings.
- Collaborating with the Communications Officer to promote events and foster camaraderie among members.
Membership Officer
The Membership Officer ensures a welcoming and organized approach to member recruitment and retention. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a log of member information, reporting on membership status, and onboarding new members.
- Ensuring all members remain active Freemasons and handling resignations promptly.
- Attending and supporting club social events to build a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
