Essex Provincial Football Match: A Day of Friendship, Fun, and Fundraising!

On the 11th of August, Freemasons gathered for a fantastic football match that celebrated camaraderie, competition, and charity. Organised by our very own Ross Challis, the event saw a team of Freemasons, many of whom are proud Cornerstone Club members, take on Billericay FC, managed by Ross himself.

Despite a valiant effort, Billericay FC won the match with a strong 10-5 scoreline. However, the real winners of the day were the Lennox Cancer Fund and The Brain Tumour Charity, as the event raised funds to support these vital organisations.

The Freemasons’ team played with incredible spirit, with moments of brilliance and teamwork shining through. Although Billericay FC’s talent proved too much on the day, the match was filled with fun and sportsmanship, fueled by the lively commentary from our very own Bernie, who kept the crowd entertained as the event’s announcer.

This special day went beyond football—it was a celebration of Freemasonry, friendship, and the power of giving back. The money raised will go directly to helping those affected by cancer and brain tumors, making a real difference in the lives of many.

A big thank you to Ross and his team for organising the event and to Bernie for his fantastic work as the announcer. And of course, thank you to everyone who played, supported, and contributed to this incredible day. Here’s to many more events like this in the future!
