
On December 14th, 2024, the Cornerstone Lodge No. 9968 hosted a spectacular themed Installation meeting at the Howard Hall Masonic Centre in Braintree. This special occasion, graced by the presence of Nick Franklin, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, marked the installation of Barry Hayward as Worshipful Master. The ceremony was conducted by the outgoing Master, Jack Saunders, whose leadership over the past year was celebrated with heartfelt admiration.
True to the Cornerstone Lodge’s tradition of unique themes, this event embraced the vibrant and colorful culture of Turkey. The evening began with a captivating video call with the Grand Master of Turkey, who shared fascinating insights into the workings of Freemasonry in his country. His engaging discussion offered members and guests a glimpse into the Masonic traditions of a different part of the world, adding a layer of depth and meaning to the occasion.
The highlight of the evening was the Festive Board, transformed into a celebration of Turkish cuisine and culture. Guests savored an array of authentic Turkish dishes, prepared to perfection, immersing themselves in the rich flavors and traditions of the region. The joyous atmosphere was further enhanced by the camaraderie and fellowship that the Cornerstone Lodge is renowned for.

Adding a touch of magic to the evening, Turkish fire dancers performed an extraordinary display of artistry and skill. Their mesmerizing routines, blending elegance with daring feats, left the audience in awe. The vibrant performances created an unforgettable spectacle, concluding the event on a high note.
