A recent drinks-up in London saw members of the Essex Cornerstone Club gather for a relaxed and sociable evening at the iconic Hamilton Hall, right in the heart of the City.
Set within the grand former ticket hall of Liverpool Street Station, Hamilton Hall provided the perfect backdrop for an informal Cornerstone get-together. With its high ceilings, historic architecture, and lively atmosphere, the venue offered a brilliant contrast to more traditional settings and made it easy for members to drop in after work or travel in from across Essex.
The evening was all about conversation and connection. Over drinks, members caught up on recent events, shared stories from their Masonic journeys, and welcomed newer faces who were attending their first Cornerstone social. The central London location proved ideal for encouraging a strong turnout, bringing together Freemasons from different Lodges in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.
As always with Cornerstone events, there was no formal agenda, just good company and an open invitation to enjoy each other’s company. Laughter echoed around the hall as small groups formed and re-formed throughout the evening, reflecting the easygoing nature that defines Cornerstone socials.
What made the night particularly successful was its simplicity. Sometimes, a casual drink in the right setting is all that’s needed to strengthen friendships and reinforce a sense of belonging. Hamilton Hall delivered exactly that, offering space, atmosphere, and accessibility in equal measure.
The London drinks-up was another great example of how Essex Cornerstone continues to create inclusive, flexible socials that fit around busy lives while keeping the bonds of fellowship strong. With plans already being discussed for future city meet-ups, it’s clear these informal evenings remain a valued part of the Cornerstone calendar. 🍻
