Last weekend, the charming Prittlewell Lodge hosted its much-loved ‘Olde English Night,’ a festive gathering that drew members of the Cornerstone Club for an evening filled with nostalgia and merry-making. As the night unfolded, the historic lodge turned into a lively hub of camaraderie, showcasing a perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary revelry.
The event was marked by an abundance of beer, flowing as freely as the laughter that filled the air. Attendees, including the young and the young-at-heart, indulged in traditional English ales, each brew telling a story of heritage and craftsmanship. The highlight of the evening was the jovial sing-alongs led by none other than Bernie, our club chairman. His spirited renditions of classic English tunes added a heartwarming touch to the night.
Bernie, with his infectious energy, managed to pull even the most reserved members onto their feet, turning the lodge into a lively chorus of voices, albeit slightly out of tune. It was a sight of pure joy—friends and neighbors linking arms, swaying to the rhythm of music that echoed through the halls of Prittlewell Lodge.
As the night drew to a close, the sense of community was palpable. This annual ‘Olde English Night’ not only served as a reminder of the rich traditions that bind us but also reinforced the strong bonds within the Cornerstone Club. It was an evening where memories were made, laughter was shared, and the simple joy of togetherness was celebrated, all under the warm, inviting roof of Prittlewell Lodge.
